Recovering

While we recovered from our trip, and before we had company, I put up lots of strawberries and made lots of jam.  Which means I had a sticky kitchen floor. And at our house when its time to mop the floor we move all the chairs into the living room and, usually, we make a tunnel by lining up 2 rows of chairs and throwing a big blanket over them.
The first half of our jam supply.
But this time, since  the kids were sick and were spending alot of time indoors, we made a big fort, just to mix things up a little.
They put  on a  royal banquet inside.

Note Elliott is allowing his dog to eat off of his plate.

Meanwhile, the 'Ladies' are tending diligently to their babies, before settling in to enjoy their meal.

It kept them busy all afternoon so I could get the berries done, and then they helped do the floor before dinner.  We ate on folding chairs all day rather than tearing down the fort. Twas worth it to keep the rest of the house from turning into a disaster. :)

Definitely worth it to keep the chaos in one spot! otherwise ours tends to look like a tornado came through. ;) Of course our guys probably would have added the entire contents of the toy room to their's in the name of "moving" or "taking a trip" but still the disaster is semi contained rather than wide spread. :D ~ SJo
