Mornings and Phone Calls- by Miss Kate

I am not a morning person. Although I am happy in the mornings. But I like to just lay around and cuddle with something... the floor, my elephant and teddybear, my blanky, and occasionally my mommy. But sooner or later I must get up.
And let my mommy deal with this...
Fine hair = lots of tangles. :
Then its time to do my morning stretches.
Get rehydrated...and hey, the phone is ringing...
Hello!...oh, Hi, Aunt Sus
It's Aunt Sus and she says she can't wait to see me at conference.I told her I'd try and help her find a good guy...And then I laughed so hard that she hung up on me.

Yesterday I called Gramma on the phone...
I had to try lots of buttons before I found Gramma'sBut I finally found it...

And then the phone began ringing....
And ringing...and ringing...and ringing... And finally she answered just when I'd about given up, and she said she missed me.
I missed her too and it made me sad... So I asked mom when we could go see gramma.
She said next week we could spend a whole week at Gramma's house so now I'm really happy!!!

It'll be soo much fun!!!

P.S. from Mom- Notice Miss Kate is hugging the phone to her chest while she is talking on the phone... I keep the speaker phone on and that is how she talks to Gramma...hugging the phone. Gramma was actually doing all the talking during this session. ;) So, Gramma, now you know what Miss Kate was doing at the other end of the line.

Winter is here...which means its scrappin' time!!!

Today I looked out the front door to this And out the back door to this.Yes it was as cold as it looks and this was at 11:30. I opened the blinds to enjoy the chillyness from the warmth of the indoors ...and about 15-20min later...And Yes, I went outside in my bare feet to take this pic. :D

Hey, I get excited about snow. It was a rare and exciting treat where I grew up.And it is absolutely beautiful!
Miss Kate and I enjoyed watching it out the window...
While we stayed all warm and cozy inside with some yummy pumpkin cookies to munch on.
Changing the subject, but I just had a couple pics from yesterdays 'Scrappin' Day' to get out of the way.
Miss Kate was so happy to have some playmates for the afternoon.
DollyAnd La-La(formerly called Sweetpea)We were happy to have Dolly and Miss Kate getting along so well together as they often just enjoy aggravating each other. There were giggles and babbling coming from the bedroom so I went to see what they were doing. They each a had a beater from the handmixer and were waving them around wildly, pulling books off the bookshelf (which is allowed since I haven't even finished unpacking them and the few that are on there mostly aren't anything important), and just yacking to each other like typical girls. They were kinda embarrassed after I took their picture.
Lets just say last time they were here together for an afternoon they didn't get along that well.
La-La is the one who got the bad end of the deal this time, when Miss Kate chucked a Happy Bear at her and got her right in the face. :( She's a pretty tough little thing. :)
Looks like someone is taking over my scrapbook table.
Helping to organize my pictures. ;) I think we have a budding scrapbooker on our hands...much to the dismay of Mr. Wise Guy. Bye now. :)

Just Another Day

This morning Miss Kate had her blueberries, as usual, and was covered with blueberry juice when she was finished, as usual... but I noticed something strange upon observing her face a little closer. Is it just me, or does this little mischief face look as if she attempted to stick a blueberry UP HER NOSE. How else do you get this look. Notice the abundance of berry juice in/around the one nostril.
Mommy, how can you think such awful things about me!

It was kinda funny though. At least it didn't get stuck. :P

Later in the day...
Silently and sleepily observing mommy's peach smoothy.

Mommy has turned her back for a moment so Miss Kate slips her binky out and sets it aside.

Contemplating how to taste this mass of frozen yum she decides the best option is to try the hands free method so as to leave no fingerprints. (I really tried to get a picture of her eating out of it like a little puppy-bending all the way over, using no hands, and licking the smoothy- but my camera was going too slow and she was doing it too quick. Sorry, you'll just have to imagine.)
Oh, hi mom. You didn't see anything did you?
I'm innocent. You have no proof. No fingerprints. Ain't gonna pin it on me, no way, no how, uh-uh....
Ooops! (gulp) I forgot to wipe my face didn't I?
...Even later in the day...
A very sleepy little girl who found a cosy place to rest. She kept coming over and doing this every few minutes.
She ended up crawling inside and laying down for alittle while.
She finally sat up and just sat there snuggling with her blanky.
I took pity on her and put her down for her nap. :)
Now its off to scrapbooking.

Projects

I have been sewing every chance I got this week and yesterday and today was working on this meeting chair-cover for infants/toddlers. I finished it today. It is a gift for my cousin Mary L. and it is also my favorite one of all the ones I've made so far. I think its the color and the teddy bear embroidered on the back part.

Possible it is also the fact that the teddy bear turned out half way decent in spite of being done freehand. I know it isn't perfectly symetrical...but I don't have time for that and if M. doesn't like it she can restitch it herself. :)

This is one of the other projects I just did the other day. Remember I said I was "building" a shelf for the dishes Miss Kate got for her birthday. Well considering the fact that I don't have any major tools and I didn't really want to spend money on it... Guess what? It's built out of cardboard. Simply bacause I have tons of cardboard laying around since moving. Oh, and lots of packing tape. I probably used a whole roll. :) (It is about 2 ft. tall.... just to help you get some perspective)
The back
I got some cheap "wood" contact paper to cover it with to try and help improve the look.

The Side
The Front

Believe it or not, it is actually pretty sturdy. Miss Kate loves to climb on it and in it and it seems to hold up fairly well so far. We'll see how long it lasts. Not that I'm worried about that since it was pretty much just some cheap entertainment for a boring afternoon. :)
