Keepin' up with the Joneses

We heard everybody else was sick so we thought we'd get sick too. Besides, misery loves company right?Miss Kate getting steamed Sunday night.
And feelin just plain miserable with a fever of 103.
(this was actually right after she had the chills and I bundled her all up and she just lay there shivering)
Heading to the doctor Monday morning where after hours of nurses and doctors and x-rays and waiting we were sent home with a nebulizer to use 4 times a day with Albuterol and a steroid to take twice a day to fix up her lungs which were extrememly congested.

Starting to feel better on her meds ...

but still content to just lay there.
And this...

was the morning after her first night on steroids. :D They said a possible side effect of restless sleeping. She was all over the bed and up and down tossing and turning all night long. (Daddy slept on the guest bed and mommy ended up with a bruise on her cheek)
She did much better after that first night, and has since slept fairly well, all things considered.
We are happy to be past the worst and slowly doing better. Energy is mostly back but she still coughs a lot, struggles to eat much and drinks only water.
Remember that empty lot across the road from our house... well, they've been doing some work on it the past couple of days and Miss Kate loves to watch the diggers and bulldozers. I'm just glad for something to keep her entertained while she is stuck in the house for a while.
She watched this little digger scooping dirt and then hauling it out of sight to an empty lot 2houses down from us for quite a long time this afternoon. And then the little bulldozer putted around for awhile. And since she was being entertained she ate her whole snack!!

So that was the big excitement of our day today. :) Can you tell we've been stuck home for awhile. I am sick now too, but just with a cold and it hasn't been too bad. Today is the worst so far and I've just been a bit congested with sore throats in the night and morning. Hopefully that means I'm just getting a light version. Ya'all stay well now, and have a good weekend. :)

Thoughts of Miss Kate on THE BIG NEWS!!

Yes, we're going to have a new baby at our house in the summer time (Aug. 3) and Miss Kate is soo excited!!! I'll let her take it from here...
I'm so so SO excited!!!! I just LOVE babies!!!
Mom is tired alot right now and she doesn't feel good alot so that part isn't so exciting...She says I am blissfully unaware of what it is really like to have a new baby around...

But I'm too happy to care if thats true or not...Oh I'm sure sometimes it can be a drag...

But I just know we'll be the bestest buds.

I'll give it lots of loves...
And maybe sometimes I'll do mean stuff to it when mom isn't looking...
But I'll try and make it happy again when it cries...And I'll teach it lots of things... Like how to get into mischief...
HA HA HA! Don't tell mom I said that.

I'll share my snacks with it...and feed it a bottle when its thirsty.
I'll just take the bestest care of our baby...
But when it has a stinky diaper...
I'll give it back to mommy.
Oooh! I'm just so excited I can hardly wait.
You don't think I would ever have jealousy problems do you??

The company...

...has come and gone and finally we are posting a quick post before heading out of town, lest we fall way behind in our blogging. Here are the few pics I took while they were here. 'They' being Mr. Tech & Sjo and Kiddos along with A. Susie Q.
The step has become a boat for 2...
Or better yet a train!!
Umm, I think we have just derailed...

Aaah! Brace yourselves....I can see it coming!Man on the track! Man on the track!

Skype time with Grampa D and Gramma Jo and Uncle AJ.
Nothing like having A. Susie around to take care of the kiddos so the preggo moms could sit around and be lazy.
First it was a fun story...But apparently the end was *SCARY*...Like... toe curling *SCARY*.
What could be *SCARY* about 'Baby Farm Animals'.... maybe she's just plumb tuckered out. :)
(and I promise her finger is not up her nose-it just looks like it) :D
Phi and Kate sharing a book on Sun. afternoon... for a few seconds at least.

While poor Leroy got stuck with cleanup duty. ;)

Sus cut my hair on Sun. afternoon while the rest of the folks took naps...
and the kiddos were all right at the barriers getting a little cranky with each other and the lack of attention from the 'big people'. :)

Thanks for coming Mr. Tech, Sjo & Kids and A. Sus. We so much enjoyed the company.

Out walkin'

Last time we went out walkin it was right after several days of foggy gray weather and we were desperate to get out of the house and get some fresh air. It was a beautiful sunny day although the temp was only up to 24 degrees F. (we didn't know that until after we got home and it took so long to get warm again that mommy decided to check what the temp was) Anyway we walked to walmart to get some milk, which is about 3 mi. away making it a 6 mi jaunt which was fine other than the fact that it was freezing cold out and the side tire of the 3 wheeled jogger stroller was completely flat, making it very hard to steer...we even stopped at Oil can Henry's and had them blow up the tire but it only lasted 30 seconds. And then...on our way home 2 little yappy dogs ran after us and even though we ignored them the bigger one bit mommy before they turned and ran. Mommy was very mad at it. But at least we got out of the house and got some fresh air, AND we didn't have to 'run out and get milk' anymore.
This is all thats left of the doggy bite, a fading bruise and a faint toothmark... it was in a really awkward spot to get a good pic of.
Well, yesterday was beautiful out and quite a bit warmer than our last attempted walk, so Mommy and Aunt. Vi and Aunt Reba and La La and Dolly along with La La's doggy went out for a much more enjoyable walk.
We were told we needed to duck a little to fit in the picture and we sort of over-ducked if there is such a thing. :DMommy had to use the backpack stroller since the jogger one (the BOB) still needed tire repair.

Mommy had me all bundled up with jacket, hat, gloves, and even 2 pairs of pants, and with a pair of La La's sunglasses and my trusty juicebox we were ready to go.Watch yer backside tho folks cause you never know when a mean doggy will sneak up on you and sink his nasty little teeth into a chunk of your leg..

Afterwards we stuck around at Aunt Vi's for awhile and just hung out and played together.
It was great to get out and have some fun together.

In the evening everyone came over to our house for dinner and home-made icecream and hot fudge sauce. Yumm! Thanks for the fun day girls. :)
PS. all photos are courtesy of Vi since I forgot my camera. Thanks abunch Vi.
We'll try and get a post from our weekend company up soon. :)
