Mischief Happens

I was feeding Elliott in the bedroom this morning and Miss Kate wandered out to find something more exciting to do. Eventually I began hearing a weird noise which continued for quite a while and I was somewhat concerned as to the cause of it. I finally concluded that she must have reached the washrag from the sink and was wiping down all kitchen surfaces with it as she loves to do. With that conclusion I continued feeding Elliott and went back to my reading, blissfully unaware of what was really going on out there. :D

THIS!!!

Kate was sifting the flour through the bottom rack on my baker's rack as though it was white sand. Pushing it around, and running it through her fingers, and having oh so much fun...
Until Mommy marched in...

I exclaimed that she was covered in flour and she looked down at her clothes as though she had just noticed that fact. She seemed a bit uncertain as to whether or not she was getting a spanking or just a good dusting off when I tried (unsuccessfully) to brush the flour off of her.So after cleaning up this mess I have been walking around my kitchen all day with powdery feet and a rather slippery floor.

So here's a warning to my guests tonight:

Beware! Walk carefully in my kitchen or you may just end up on your seat after walking through the door, 'cause I ain't scrubbing the floor today. :)

Startin' em early

Trying to come up with something new and fun for Miss Kate I remembered a pair of rollerblades I got free from somewhere back when Kate was just 7 mos old. At the time it seemed like it would be ages before she would fit them...

But to my surprise they already fit her...
And she was so excited to wear them!!! She just kept grinning and giggling and clasping her hands. She is always trying to turn around and watch my feet out the back flap of the stroller when I take the kids out rollerblading, and she thought she was big stuff to have some on her own feet. Now we just gotta learn how to use 'em. :D Looking at this pic...now I know why the store clerk asked her if she was 3 yesterday. She just stared at the lady and I finally informed the woman that she was actually not yet 2.
P.S. Sorry for the fuzzy pics. Somebody got a hold of my camera and messed with the settings when i wasn't watching and i didn't check 'em before grabbing it to snap these shots. (it was on nightime setting)
