Valentines Day came early

It has been so gray and dreary out the last couple of days. I guess it was gettin to me yesterday. Miss Kate just needed to get out of the house and we had a few things we needed at the store too so we headed out to go shopping. The first thing she saw when we walked in the store was the big display of flowers and she got all excited when I let her stop and smell them. (Some of them actually did smell but not nearly as yummy as the roses in Grammas yard) :) Anyway, after leisurely shopping around for awhile we headed back up to pay and again passed the flowers. Miss Kate wanted to stop and smell the roses again and I finally decided I might as well buy some to brighten up the house since we rarely ever splurge on flowers. Now Miss Kate frequently climbs the kitchen chair to smell the flowers. And usually she gets too close and they tickle her nose ...

When Mr. Wise Guy came home and asked about the flowers I told him they were compliments of Miss Kate. :) She's been thouroughly enjoying them and so have I. :)

After seeing roses on the table all day it got me thinking about chocolate (cause roses and chocolate were just meant to be together) so i ended up making a batch of chocolate covered pretzels. (Dark chocolate to be exact) Mmmm. Soo good!!!I was enjoying a handful this afternoon and Miss Kate kept coming up and smiling really big in hopes of Mommy sharing with her. What? I'm not doing anything mommy. ....Until you look the other way
And then Mommy would say (in a big growly voice) HEY! Did you sneak one of my pretzels? And she would giggle hysterically showing a big mouthful of pretzel. :D
Anyway, at least we brightened up the day some. :) On a totally different subject...
Here is her favorite place to entertain herself these days.
She gathers all her favorite toys, or whatever particular objects she happens to find of interest at the moment, and pile them on and around my workout step (which is her play bench 99% of the time and my workout step the other 1%) and her little entertainment chair and plays there for very long periods of time on good days....just climbing around, rearranging things and pretty much haning out in her own little world.
She frequently likes to stand on the chair and press the crayons with her feet to make the songs play and then dance to the music and/or jump off the chair and then giggle hysterically.
I found her in a new hiding place today after hauling a load of clean laundry from the dryer to the liv.rm. couch and leaving the dryer door open.
BOO!!!
She loved it and didn't want to get out...
But I made her cause I had more laundry to dry. :)
And this...
is the closest pic I have to what she does when she is mad/annoyed/frustrated.
She runs to the farthest corner she can find to hide in and then makes grumpy sounds and every now and then usually just one little eyeball will peer out and glare darkly at anyone who might be taking note of her naughtiness therefore making the whole charade worthwhile. This picture doesn't really show that ...but when she does it sometimes its all I can do to keep a straight face ...let alone a stern look.

I love all those photos of Kate! You got some really good ones of her expressions! I love her bangs - her hair is so long! Miss you guys!

Hmmm, I'm not really sure how you could ever maintain a stern look at that darling mischieveous little face.

Heee, you caught a good one of the flowers tickling her nose. The pretzels look too yummy!! The boys have never had the fun of hiding in the dryer since ours is in the basement and they rarely come along. Phi looked at her face in the last picture and said "bad" I guess the glare got to him.:0D
