The Idaho Trip

The trip started out with a *BANG*. Not really. Actually we left Fri. AM after Elliotts morning feeding and had awonderful trip with only 2 stops. The kids did terrific in spite of the fact that Kate only slept a couple of hours the whole trip. We didn't even have to break out the toys as she was content just to watch the world go by. We arrived safely and in one piece at D&H's around 5:30 PM and had a lovely weekend with them. Sunday afternoon Mr. Wise Guy headed off to Big Sky for his classes which were to be done Wednesday afternoon, while the kids and I continued to stay at D&H's. So it was actually Mr. Wise Guy's trip that started with a *BANG*. well.. he was an hour from his destination when the *BANG* came. Just a buck dropping in to say hello and help keep him awake. It made for a chilly rest of his ride and a bit of extra headache once he arrived to get it drivable again. It still remains side mirrorless on the passenger side and deer hair and glass splinters continue to show up from who-knows-where, and there remains the dent in the hood for memories sake, but it drives fine. Oh yeah...and that brand new replacement windshield we had to get was graced with two big chips ( after a nerve shattering whack that had me ducking) while passing a semi not ten minutes into our trip home. Oh well. That's life in the backcountry for ya. :) Afew shots from a short hike Mr. Wise Guy went on while at the resort for his classes. And now...on to the rest of the pics.
Miss Kate loves animals and spent a large amount of time harrassing Macho...
and this Kitty. I have some videos to post at a later date but for now here are a few pictures.
Her typical animal surveying stance. :DBlowing dandelion seeds all over uncleD & aunt H's lawn so they'll have something to do next summer. ;)

She loved tromping around their acreage and exploring everything.

My little man is growin up so fast. He loved LittleH's walker.

Talking and cooing in his high little voice.

Okay, okay, I get the point Elliott. I'll stop taking pictures now.

Miss Kate loving (more like harrassing)Elliott.

And here is a long sequence of photos of Miss Kate talking on the phone to Gramma Jo at 11:30 at night when daddy was still in Big Sky and Mommy was trying to get Elliott fed. Notice how wiggly she is. She moves constantly while talking on the phone. (Watch her legs in particular.)

I was holding the camera out over her head and snapping these pictures blindly. Not knowing what I was getting I kept on doing it figuring if I got enough certainly one of them would turn out. Apparently she got annoyed with me , so she held her little dog Ruffy up in front of her face ans said, Cheese, Ruffy, cheese. Not sharing the books and toys with littleH who seems to be holding her own very well.
Makin a new friend.
This cute little chunk of mischief was playing soo quietly in the kitchen while we moms were chattin' it up in the other room. When we finally checked on him we found out why. :D Oh well, no harm done. :)
Thanks so much for a fabulous time D&H. We look forward to seeing you again before too long. Especially this sweet little sprout. :)
And so ended our wonderful trip.

(she fell asleep playing around 9:00 PM and then woke up for her second round at 11:00PM. Guess it's the Bartlett in her)

The car looks awful! Miss Kate looks so sweet and angelic in the pink pjs against the pillows, yet very grown up talking away. The one of her sleeping on the floor makes her seem sooo tall. Love you Miss Kate & Elliott! Hugs & kisses, Gramma Jo

Ouch! glad you weren't along when the deer happened in. Kate's new shoes are too cute as is Mr. Elliott in the walker! Can't wait to see you guys in a few weeks (or less) he looks like he's growing up too fast as usual! :) Kate on the phone, :D so fun when they start actually talking. Phi is finally into full sentences now though you still have to guess at what some of the words are. Never know what's gonna pop out next now days.

Wow, I am glad your hubby is okay. Those pictures are scary, that was a close call!

Adorable photos! Elliott seems to have the most beautiful skin tone!
