When we were staying at The Parents the weekend after the stay at Gramma Jo and Boppa D's we spent Saturday afternoon strolling around the neighborhood...and I actually remembered my camera!
First stop The original farmhouse where Gramma grew up. (I think)
Saturday (the dog) coming to kiss Kate and her dolly.
(Thanks for lending us that dolly Gramma Jo. I hope you washed it because it was licked and sniffed and nibbled on by many animals that weekend.)
Having fun "riding" the new big tractor.
Kate and Daddy racing! :)
Trying out the old John Deere
Little Man's turn. He loved it!
Getting down by herself. "I do it, mommy." she says in her sing songing voice.
Hey, Buddy watch where yer drivin' !
Trampoline fun!
He Loved it!!!
So did Kate, which was no surprise as she can jump like a jumping bean without anything under her feet but the ground.
Break time.
Wheee!!
My little jumping bean.
Check out the hair! :D
Baby wanted to jump too.
Typical toddler.
(Please note "baby" lying in the background Gramma Jo. I really hope you washed her. )
Walkin home Kate hitched a ride on daddy's shoulders for a while.
Clutching tightly to baby all the while.
After we got to this stretch of the road...
she was ready to walk for a little while...
I LOVE this picture!
She was doing her best to match her stride with Daddy's...
But alas! she her little legs were no match for his long stride.
So Daddy took pity on her and carried her the rest of the way to Gramps and Grams house.
With the house in view she was ready to be her independent little self once again.
and took off at a trot to find Grams.
She opened the door to find...
SHH! Its naptime for Grams and the Little Man.
We had dinner at the neighboring relatives that evening and cousin G babysat the kids so I could help get dinner on.
Kate wanted to go for a walk in the barnyard.
She enjoyed the lambs who were roaming freely and liked to follow us about.
She found out the quickest way to the top of the barn...with a little help from U. Dan and Anna.
This was the friendliest little horse I ever did meet...
But Kate did NOT want to touch it in spite of all of our reassuring words.
She was brave enough to explore the dimly lit barn...
but quickly backed away when she found the bigger horses. :D
I'd have to say the lambs were her favorite.
Thanks for the tour U. Dan.
After that we went to Mr. Matts 4th B-day.
Him and his girl cousins. :)
This sweet little cousin (who is just a month younger than Kate) was very loving and mothering to Elliott.
He didn't know what to do with such a gentle young lady as his sister doesn't seem to have a gentle bone in her body.
The girls were more interested in Matt's race track than he was. :)
Meanwhile Elliott was happy to play with the dolls.
(mental note: need more boy toys.)
I guess he had to prove he had the boy instinct after all.
He was lovin' Uncle AJ's truck.
Drivin' is such big stuff.
(he had a death grip on the steering wheel)
Kate and her beloved Aunt Susie.
(I think this is such a sweet pic)
And her beloved Uncle AJ
(I must say I love this one too)
(a bit of randomness thrown in here)
There was this killdeer nest in the gravel at Mr. Matt's house. It blended in so well I could hardly find it even when I knew it was there.
The frantic mother bird having a heart attack over the fact that we were just a few feet from the nest.
And Mr. Matt himself cruisin around on his nifty little John Deere tractor.
Our farewell party.
Its so hard to say goodbye after you've been together for 2 weeks.
At least some one could still smile! :)
Ya'all have yerselves a great weekend now.

LOL, on the trampoline one it looks like Elliott's hat is flying off his head. It's actually hanging on something behind him though isn't it? So much fun in the country!
funny. I hadn't noticed that but you're right all the way around.
(meaning, yes, it looks like its flying off, and yes, it is actually hanging on something behind him.)
