Seems like we moved from this...
...to this...
...to this...
in such a short amount of time.
After the temperature plunge this week I have been keeping warm with things like this...
...and this! So if the baby weighs 10lbs you will know why. :D
The solution to ice cream cravings when its freezing cold. Mint ice-cream in hot chocolate. YUM! |
Plus it has put me in the sewing mood. Here is a dolly PJ project I did.
These cold cold days keep us indoors and working on projects to keep the tempers from getting short. ;) So heres a few of the things we've been up to the past couple weeks.
The kids had a day in school where they chose a community helper to dress as. The Boy chose a Firefighter and Miss Kate chose a Vetrinarian. I believe Aubrey was being a Mommy. :)
Another day they made indian headbands and "buckskins". They were supposed to use brown paper bags, but believe it or not we have exactly zero paper bags in this house. I know of one store in town where I could get some but rarely ever go there. :D So we got a little creative and made them from the vinyl tablecloth leftovers that I had used to make The Boy's fireman pants. They used colored permanent markers to write the designs on with.
Giving me their best solomn indian faces. :D |
In case you were wondering, they live in our basement. ;D |
Anyhow, we made these fun little Acorn Bites one afternoon...
Of course I had to set up the cornucopia!
And I had a little extra fun putting some verses on our barren kitchen walls. :)
Grampa D had it looking good as new by the time he left. Hooray! :D
And here is some winter entertainment from the "Basement Band" ! :D
Please excuse the blurriness. I was trying to keep my presence unknown to the band members.:D
...some pilgrim hats another afternoon (which were a big hit)...
...and these silly turkeys another day.Of course I had to set up the cornucopia!
And I had a little extra fun putting some verses on our barren kitchen walls. :)
We had to do the traditional treasure hunt on Thanksgiving day, and we had to keep it indoors. Miss Kate requested that their be 20 clues. :) Then we had fun trying out the newly acquired games that concluded the treasure hunt.
On Black Friday the guys went out and got themselves some toys. ;) Much time was spent flying the remote control helicopters over the weekend, and much fun was had by all. :D
Of course Grandpa D had to work on some kind of project while here! He patched up the giant hole in our basement ceiling that has been there since a major water incident in the summer. :) We are SO happy to have our ceiling back together.
This was just the beginning of ripping out a huge chunk of the ceiling after a water overflow upstairs. |
As you can see the patch is fairly large. |
Grampa D had it looking good as new by the time he left. Hooray! :D
