Summer Storms

After baths on Saturday night we had a lovely thunder and lightning storm to watch.  The kids lined up on the bed to watch the fascinating display of power.
I always enjoy watching a good thunder and lighting storm, and this one didn't disappoint.

We watched rapid fire lightning for quite some time and when the wind and rain picked up we shut the window and moved to the other side of the house so the rain wouldn't blow in the open window.  The  kids sat on the headboard of their bed with the window open and enjoyed torrential downpours.  That is a novelty here. :)

Eventually the worst of the storm passed by and we retired for the night. (Well, most of us did.) We drifted off to sleep to the sound of distant thunder rumbling.

Half way!

In our family it used to be that these 2 were the big kids...
And this one was the little kid.
 The Baby. :)
But Guess what?!?!
Now these 3 are the big kids...
Because our family is expanding!
Half-way day landed on my birthday!
That means #4 is starting to make its presence known to the world in the form of a large bump stickin out in front.
Kate informed me the other day that the baby must be growing because I was getting fat! Elliott promptly responded with an inspection of my tummy and the declaration that, "it WASN'T fat  it was FLAT!" :D The boy already knows what not to say to a woman. :)

May they always love each other this much! :)

Furry, Fluffly, Cute and Cuddly

Chick day at the feed store = fun times.

They brought some extra critters in as well as a large chicken that had lollipops for the kiddos. Kate kept her hands in her pockets the whole time and chose to just watch.

 Elliott loved all the animals!

He had the hugest smile on his face when he rode the horse.

Aubrey considered getting waaay up there in the saddle.

She chose a stare down with the cow instead.

 The calves were so CUTE!

Aubrey also stalked the ducks and chickens and made them all a bit edgy. The bunnie glared at her from his corner so she left him in peace.

Oh how they both loved the lambs!

This one above wanted a shot of Starbucks drink really bad! It settle for a dab of whipped cream instead.  :D  Then it considered eating one of the flowers out of Aubrey's hair.

Then we moved inside to the chicks, ducklings,  and baby turkeys.

I caught the little guy on the right getting a drink.

These puppies were all wore out by the time we left after being overdosed with kids loving them for the last couple hours.

We topped off the day with a visit to the new pet store in town.

 There were pretty birds...
Hamsters running on their wheels...
Guinea pigs...

 Something like ferrets or weasels...

 Turtles...

And, of course, lots and lots of fish!

THE END
