More Winter!!

So last Tues. we got quite a bit more snow and some freezing fog which makes the trees look amazingly beautiful!!! I find myself running for the camera to take a quick shot out the bedroom widow or the kitchen window quite often these days. Here are a bunch of shots of some of the different scenes I have been enjoying.

So then...
With all the snow we got we decided to build a little sled run. Which I endeavored to do over Thanksgiving wknd with a lot of help from A. Rufe and Gramma Jo. I have had to repair and lengthen it as the days passed but it is still running. It is very hard to make out if you don't already know where it is, but it starts on the small mountain in our front yard and basically follows the line of snow you can see all the way down to where it lines up with the far corner of the garage where it banks in a hard turn and follows along the road. If you watch the video at the end you'll probably be able to see it better.
Thanks to Mr. Wise Guy's Fri. off I have a few pics and videos as I get none of that when I go out with 2 kiddos by my self.
When we get cold we come in and snuggle on the couch...
maybe even take a light snooze. :D
and watch the sunset while we eat dinner.

Here is a little glimpse of the fun times we've been having in our front yard. Many thanks to A. Rufe for all the hard work and the fun memories made over Thanksgiving wknd working on this sled trail together.

Here is a random funny clip from yesterday evening.
We got new cell phones and of course they come with many new ringtones. Mr. Wise Guy was trying them out and Tay-O was rockin out to 'em. The head shake thing has been his reaction to rythym since he was very small. Miss Kate on the other hand has always done hip swingin. So funny to me how the natural reaction to music is so different in the boy vs. girl. Tay-O will sometimes do this to music until he gets dizzy and falls over. Although occasionally in mtg. when there is a slightly faster tune sung he will wave his arms around dramatically and roll his head around in time with it. I seriously have no idea where he gets this stuff. Enjoy! (oh, and you may want to keep the volume down for this one.)

Winter Wonderland

So yesterday we had our first bit of snow! Miss Kate immediately wanted to go build a snowman as she has fond memories of last winters snowman.
I sent her out to play while I was getting myself bundled up and she entertained herself by making a giant triangle in the yard (which I couldn't fit into the picture entirely) and then continued making little paths in the snow and then pacing around on them. Possibly she was pretending to be Mr. Dale (The elderly neighbor man who does dozens of laps around the park daily)

I decided it would be best to build a snowman with Kate while Tay-O was taking his nap...and so it was that this little fella didn't get to enjoy the snow at all. :)
(He was happy enough with a good lunch, apparently)
So we finished Mister snowman after much labor as this cold and beautifully glitter snow is terrible for packing so we had to build one small handfull at a time gently packing as we went.
As you can see it had begun to snow once again as we were finishing up.
By dinner time it looked like this....
Although it is impossible to capture on camera what it really looked like. I could sit by the window all night watching the snow sparkle and glitter in the porch light. I simply can't get over the glittery-ness of the snow here as I have only been accustomed to the wet Oregon snow. Its like someone just spilled a giant jar of glitter over the yard to add to the beauty of the snow.
By bedtime it was blowing ...while still snowing. :)

This morning this was my view.
It's about 12 degrees out there, and on a random note, if you look closely at the below pic you'll notice I accidentally captured Mr. Squirrel in the photo. (on the gatepost)
The snow varies from 6in. to over a foot deep as the wind has been blowing alot.
Our front entrance is one big mess of drifts...but I'm not going anywhere soon. :)
We'll be staying warm and cozy inside and enjoying the beauty of winter....
before thanksgiving?!?!
We hope our family is still planning to come to our house, cause I really don't feel like going anywhere. :D
So, My Family, here is what you can look forward to. ;)
Safe drivin' Ya'all.

Snow! Snow! Snow!

Hooray for the beautiful snow! We finally got some of the glittery sparkly stuff. Kate was too little to enjoy it last year, but was facinated by it this year. She spent alot of time by the window last night watching it fall, and today she got to get out and enjoy it for a little while.
At first she wasn't sure what to do with the stuff. She studied it and poofed it around by grabbing handfuls and clapping her mittens together.
Then she tasted some...
and found snow-eating to be one of her new favorite past-times.
And of course, we had to make a snowman!

A jolly little fellow who sits on our grill peering in the window at us with a cheery smile. :)

We like to peer back at him. :)
And Kate has been running to the window every now and again to check on Mr Snowman and make sure he is OK.
He says he is just fine...its still way too cold to start melting yet.

So he continues to sit there and smile over the great mound of clothes that we peeled off after coming inside...
'These folks sure are silly. All I need out here is a hat and even that is just for style.'
After our fun in the snow we are now content to play in our warm cozy little house...
And feed oop (soup) to our baby. :)
And I'm happy to announce that today is the first day in 2weeks that I have not had to suck out or blow anymore stuffy noses. HOORAY! We are happy to be officially and completely over our colds/coughs. :)
That makes 2 seriously happy punkins.

Winter is here...which means its scrappin' time!!!

Today I looked out the front door to this And out the back door to this.Yes it was as cold as it looks and this was at 11:30. I opened the blinds to enjoy the chillyness from the warmth of the indoors ...and about 15-20min later...And Yes, I went outside in my bare feet to take this pic. :D

Hey, I get excited about snow. It was a rare and exciting treat where I grew up.And it is absolutely beautiful!
Miss Kate and I enjoyed watching it out the window...
While we stayed all warm and cozy inside with some yummy pumpkin cookies to munch on.
Changing the subject, but I just had a couple pics from yesterdays 'Scrappin' Day' to get out of the way.
Miss Kate was so happy to have some playmates for the afternoon.
DollyAnd La-La(formerly called Sweetpea)We were happy to have Dolly and Miss Kate getting along so well together as they often just enjoy aggravating each other. There were giggles and babbling coming from the bedroom so I went to see what they were doing. They each a had a beater from the handmixer and were waving them around wildly, pulling books off the bookshelf (which is allowed since I haven't even finished unpacking them and the few that are on there mostly aren't anything important), and just yacking to each other like typical girls. They were kinda embarrassed after I took their picture.
Lets just say last time they were here together for an afternoon they didn't get along that well.
La-La is the one who got the bad end of the deal this time, when Miss Kate chucked a Happy Bear at her and got her right in the face. :( She's a pretty tough little thing. :)
Looks like someone is taking over my scrapbook table.
Helping to organize my pictures. ;) I think we have a budding scrapbooker on our hands...much to the dismay of Mr. Wise Guy. Bye now. :)
